Seminar to help dog owners

Jennifer Vlazny, Hinsdale Humane Society's operations manager and obedience instructor, will lead a two-hour seminar to provide people with the tools to teach their dog to be a well-mannered member of its family and the community. No dogs will be present other than demonstration dogs.

The seminar will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 22; from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 22; and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.

Collage art comes together for Hinsdale show in June

A collection of contemporary collages called "Putting It All Together, the Art of Collage" will be on display starting Saturday, June 10, at Hinsdale Center for the Arts in Katherine Legge Memorial Park, 5903 S. County Line Road, Hinsdale.

The exhibit will open with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. June 10. The show will continue through Saturday, Aug. 12. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.

Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Singers bring holiday cheer to Hinsdale

The madrigal singers from Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South high schools will perform Old English-style Christmas Carols and other choral music at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Hinsdale Community House, Eighth and Madison streets. Gary Wilhelm, director of music at Hinsdale Central, and Bret Goad, director of student activities and choirs at Hinsdale South, have cooperatively planned the holiday-themed program. Read more...
