Willowbrook brush pickup schedule set
The Willowbrook Village Board has finalized details of the fall brush collection program.The program will take place from Monday, Oct. 23, through Friday, Oct. 27. Bird outing set for youngsters
Mothers and More will host an open play group at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, at the Willowbrook Wildlife Center, where children of all ages will enjoy learning about their backyard pals. Willowbrook's entrance is on the east side of Park Boulevard, across from College of DuPage, in Glen Ellyn.Prospective members may attend up to three functions in a public place at their own cost before joining Mothers and More.

Willowbrook fishing pier dedication set for July 8
The Willowbrook Parks and Recreation Department will dedicate the village's first fishing pier specifically designed for wheelchair-bound anglers during a ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Willow Pond, at the intersection of Plainfield Road and Adams Street. Read more...

Administrative professionals honored by WB/BR Chamber of Commerce

Easter egg hunt set
All area children 8 years old and under are invited to participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Sunrise Assisted Living of Willowbrook, 6300 Clarendon Hills Road. Youngsters should bring their own baskets to collect the eggs.There will be three egg hunts: 9 to 9:30 a.m. for 3- to 4-year-olds, 9:30 to 10 a.m. for 5- to 6-year-olds, and 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. for 7- to 8-year-olds. Each egg hunt will start promptly as scheduled.
Children will get a complimentary photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Doughnuts and juice will be served.

Residents ask Rep. Biggert to support Iraq war endgame
More than 1,000 constituents of U.S. Rep. Judy Biggert, R-13th District, of Willowbrook, have asked the Congresswoman to press the Bush administration to develop an exit strategy for the Iraq war that would bring U.S. troops home in 2006.Five of Biggert's constituents delivered a 62-page petition containing the signatures to Biggert's Willowbrook office Dec. 14, as part of a campaign organized by the political action group known as MoveOn.org Political Action. The campaign collected residents' signatures to call the attention of members of Congress to developing a plan to withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq next year. Read more...

Willowbrook police will be watching for unbelted drivers
The Willowbrook Police Department, in conjunction with law enforcement agencies across the country, and through a grant from the Illinois Department of Trans-portation, will participate in the "Click It or Ticket" safety belt campaign over the Christmas and New Year's holidays.
